| 4 Star, First Class Traditional Hotel
The hotel is situated in the heart of Zurich only a few minutes walk from the main city sights a midst the streets of the historical old town which are noted for their restaurants, theatres and museums. The Limmatquai, lake, and the famous Bahnhofstrasse are also within easy reach.
The rooms vary in size from medium to very large. They are all kept in very good condition along with the bathrooms. Rooms also reflect the art deco style of the public areas, and many have paintings of famous film stars - past and present. The rooms have views over the roofs and gardens of the old town.
The small restaurant/breakfast room is on the second floor, also in art deco style with unusual yellow/black chairs and contrasting fabrics.
This is a traditional building which is in very good condition, especially when compared to the surrounding architecture. The upper floors have been converted into a modern hotel.
The lobby is small and resembles the stylish art deco style. It has a small reception desk, small seating area and marble floor.
The hotel has an inner courtyard terrace which is open in summer and houses 2 cinemas, an Italian restaurant and bar. For the discerning individual traveller who wants to stay right in the heart of Zurich it would be hard to better the Wellenberg. |
